To maintain oral health, saliva should be neutral or slightly alkaline – between 5.5 and 7pH. A moderate level of acidity in saliva allows it to fully perform its protective functions, which significantly reduces the risk of tooth decay. Poor brushing and a diet high in sugary foods create favorable conditions for the growth of bacteria in the oral cavity, which can lead to gum and dental disease.

How to promote an optimal pH level in the oral cavity?
🦷 Brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste at least twice a day.
🦷 Floss regularly (every day!) or use a toothbrush between your teeth.
🦷 Eat a balanced diet – don’t overeat.
🦷Use more clean water in your diet. Rinsing your mouth with water after every meal is a simple and effective way to normalise the pH level of saliva.
🦷Monitor your overall health. Uncontrolled chronic diseases worsen oral health.
🦷Give up bad habits.
🦷 Visit a dental hygienist regularly (2 times a year) for professional oral hygiene.
